BHS returns are simple, free and quick, especially when you use Parcel Delivery. If you would like to return a parcel to BHS this should be done within 30 days and the item should be in its original purchased state, which includes all labels and within its original packaging. It is important that the items are in a condition in which they could be sold again. The BHS returns policy is very generous, as the minimum statutory amount of days to return your item is only 14 days, giving you a further 16 days to make up your mind and arrange for the return to take place.

They also stand by the products they offer as they believe them to be of excellent quality. In most cases, if the item you purchased becomes faulty and cannot be repaired or replaced, then you are entitled to a refund up to 6 months from the purchase date. Also, if your goods do not last a reasonable length of time, then you can receive a partial refund up to 6 years later. BHS returns pride themselves on selling great items so if you do have any problems, they will work hard to resolve the issue so that you are fully satisfied.

There are a number of items which refunds cannot be offered on unless the item arrived with you in a faulty condition. These items include underwear or swimwear where the hygiene seal has been removed, any goods which are perishable, such as hampers, food and drink, and also any pillow or mattress protectors. If you have any queries the BHS customer care team will be happy to advise. There are also terms and conditions displayed on the company’s website.

If you are returning an item which was purchased as a multi-buy discount offer, for example, 2 items for £20.00, you will be refunded based on the full price of the item minus the discount which was given on the order. If you purchased two items in a buy one get one free offer, for example, you will need to return all of the items which were purchased as part of the offer, a full refund will then be offered.

Once the item has been received to the BHS returns warehouse, your refund will be processed to your original payment method within 14 days. If after this period of time the refund is not showing in your account, please contact BHS customer care. The email address is customercare@bhs.com and the telephone service is 0333 733 1000. Please note that sometimes it can take around 3 working days for a refund to show on a credit or debit card.

Any refund you claim from BHS will not affect your statutory rights.

Return Your BHS Parcel

Although BHS recommend dropping any BHS parcel returns at a local collection point and using their pre-printed labels, we understand that in many cases this is not convenient. We work with a range of couriers who are able to provide a fast, efficient and reliable delivery service. All you need to do is enter the delivery and collection addresses along with the parcel’s weight and dimensions and you will be provided with a variety of very competitively priced couriers.

Collection is quick and easy but if you do need to nip out, there is no need to panic. You do not have to be home for the collection of your parcel, thanks to the BHS returns policy. You can leave the parcel in a designated safe place or with a neighbour, but you will need to make sure you make this clear when you place your return order. Any parcels which are left in a safe place are done so at your own risk. You will know the parcel has been safely collected as all the couriers we work with will leave a card, which should be used as your receipt to prove the parcel was collected.

Although you cannot currently specify a collection time, all of the couriers we advertise do operate Monday through to Saturday. When you are booking a collection there will be a selection of days to choose from. This allows you to select the most convenient day for you and plan well in advance. There are an increasing number of couriers who are offering weekend collections, so if you do have a hectic working week there may be a courier who can fit around your schedule.

If you do have to nip out at short notice and you miss the courier they will leave a card. This will include the contact details for you to re-arrange the collection time. Many couriers operate up until 8.00pm, so may be able to revisit you the same day, although this is not guaranteed.

BHS do offer a convenient service for returns collection. You can drop your parcel at any of the 600 Asda stores or any of the 6000 CollectPlus returns points. There are some size restrictions for the CollectPlus service which you need to abide by: the maximum dimensions are 60cm x 50cm x 50cm and a maximum weight of 10kg. If you are returning heavy parcels, the Asda ‘to you’ service is a better option. The maximum dimensions for a ‘to you’ return are 60cm x 60cm x 90cm, with a maximum weight of 25kg. When you drop the parcel off, you will receive a proof of postage receipt. It is important to keep this safe in case your parcel goes astray.

Most couriers operating a standard delivery currently take 3-5 days from the date of collection to deliver your parcel back to the BHS warehouse. If your address is non-UK mainland, it could take slightly longer, in which case you should allow up to 7 working days. Most couriers define non-mainland addresses within the UK as Jersey, Isle of Man, Guernsey, Isles of Scilly, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland, and the Highlands.

It is worth remembering that compensation against any damages during the returns process does not cover glassware, pottery or antiques. It is possible to take out additional insurance yourself from a number of providers on our website, and the maximum compensation value is usually capped at £1000.

Tracking Your BHS Order

Once the item has been collected you will be able to fully track your parcel’s progress. This provides you with the peace of mind that your parcel is on its way to BHS and also lets you know of its safe arrival. If there are any problems and your parcel does get lost in transit, which is very unusual, you will still receive a refund as long as you have proof of postage, as stated in the BHS returns policy.

Please note that the barcode printed on the card left during your BHS parcel returns collection does not provide tracking details for the returns process. The courier you place a return order with will email you tracking details, and you should use these on the courier’s own website to follow the delivery’s progress.
