Screwfix is the largest multi-channel retailer of trade tools, hardware products, and accessories in the United Kingdom. Founded as the Woodscrew Supply Company in 1979, the company’s original mail order catalogue was only one page in length and dedicated solely to screws. By 1987, the catalogue had expanded to four pages, operating under the name Handimail, and in 1992, the first catalogue using the Screwfix Direct branding was printed, marking the start of a significant period of growth for the company.

Today, Screwfix has over 500 stores around the country and has expanded into Northern Ireland and Germany. Their website includes over 28,000 products for purchase online, which can be picked up in-store, or delivered directly to your address. The website attracts 2.6 million unique visitors a week and, with over three decades of experience in the industry, they deliver tens of thousands of parcels every week to DIY enthusiasts, handymen and tradesmen all across the UK and Europe.

    Return Your Screwfix Parcel

Getting a parcel delivered by Screwfix is simplicity itself. If you order online by 20:00, Monday to Friday, or by 16:00 on a Saturday or Sunday, Screwfix will deliver to your home or site by the next day.

Parcels are delivered between 08:30 and 18:30, Monday to Friday, or between 09:00 and 17:00 on a Saturday or Sunday.

Place your order online, or in-store and you can arrange a delivery time that suits you, up to seven days ahead of time.

If you provide a mobile phone number, you will receive an SMS text message about an hour before your delivery is due to arrive, so you needn’t stay in all day waiting for your parcel to arrive.

Orders can be tracked online to confirm when the goods have left the Screwfix warehouse, where the courier is currently, and when you can expect them to make their delivery.

The courier will require a signature to release the parcels.

If there are any issues with your delivery, the Screwfix returns policy allows any and all items to be returned by post or direct to the store, within 30 days of purchase.

    Screwfix Couriers

Screwfix are the largest supplier of tools, hardware, and accessories in the UK, with over thirty years’ experience in the industry.

Screwfix deliver seven days a week and can ensure next day delivery on the majority of their items. Items can be delivered to your home, to a work site, or to your local Screwfix store for pick up, at no extra charge.

If you are situated within the M25, Screwfix can deliver your parcel on the same day, if you order before 19:00 Monday to Friday, before 17:00 on a Saturday, or before 15:00 on a Sunday.

Screwfix offer free next day delivery on all orders over £50.00, and free weekend delivery on all orders over £100. Smaller orders can be delivered by the next working day, or on a weekend, for a small fee.

Screwfix parcel returns could not be simpler. There is a Screwfix returns helpline in operation, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Nearly all items can be returned within 30 days of sale, no questions asked. The Screwfix parcel returns team aims to make it as quick and as easy as possible for you to get a refund on your purchase, or to exchange it for another item.

All items can be taken to your nearest Screwfix store. You will, of course, need to bring your invoice, your order reference number, or your receipt as proof of purchase. The in-store staff will check the items to ensure that they were purchased in the last 30 days. You can then get a full refund on your returned goods, or exchange them for something in-store.

The company understands that it is not always possible for you to get to a local Screwfix store, meaning Screwfix parcel returns are a possibility. If there is not a store near you, or if you are unable to return a certain item to the store, Screwfix returns can be sent from any Post Office in accordance with the Screwfix returns policy. However, it is important to note that certain items cannot be returned to Screwfix through the Post Office, including anything powered by lithium batteries, and parcels over 1 metre in length, or 2 kilograms in weight. You would need to make other arrangements to return these items to them, as stated in the Screwfix returns policy.

If posting your Screwfix returns, you will need to print off a returns label and fill in a returns form. Screwfix are able, in certain circumstances, to arrange for a courier service to pick up your returns parcel, though this may attract a small service charge.

Fast delivery is standard for Screwfix, who will guarantee next day delivery so long as you place your order before 20:00 between Monday and Friday, or before 16:00 on a weekend. Next day delivery is free for all orders over £50.00 during the week. Orders under £50.00 will incur a delivery fee of £5.00.

Delivery on a Saturday or a Sunday is free on orders over £100.00. Orders between £50.00 and £100.00 will incur a charge of £5.00 for weekend delivery, whilst orders under £50.00 will attract a delivery charge of £10.00.

Faster delivery is available during the week, where delivery is guaranteed before noon the next day. This costs £5.00 for orders over £50.00, and £10.00 for all orders less than that.

Screwfix also offer their fastest delivery during the week, where a delivery is assured before 10:00 the following day. This service costs £10.00 for orders over £50.00, or £15.00 if the parcel is valued at less than that.

    Tracking Your Screwfix Order

Some Screwfix items are delivered direct from their supplier, rather than from one of their stores or warehouses. These direct dispatch items can only be supplied to mainland UK, and it is not possible, at present, to track delivery. Next day delivery cannot be guaranteed on direct dispatch items, which can take up to 21 working days. Instead, you will be contacted by email, SMS text message, or telephone by the supplier to arrange a suitable time and date for delivery. Direct deliveries cannot be made to your local Screwfix store. They can only be made to a kerbside location at your chosen address, accessible from the road. As with all other Screwfix deliveries, you will be expected to provide a signature upon receipt.

Delivery direct from Screwfix suppliers is free of charge, except for a few items, which require a minimum quantity to be purchased to qualify for free delivery. These include YBS insulation, PVCU windows, Jeld Wen interior doors, Sheridans worktops, splash backs and upstands, as well as Ariel Plastics.

In those situations where free direct dispatch does not apply, you will be contacted once the order has been processed to arrange payment for the delivery.

To summarise, Screwfix provides an excellent returns service, so head to Parcel Delivery to find out more on how to return your parcel.
